Testimonials
Ingrid Hillje is a very loving, dedicated and caring animal lover. She provided excellent care and a true sense of commitment to my horses while they were in her care. The horses were grained and fed very well and in a timely manner. The attention that my horses received were second to none. Words can not truly describe this dedicated woman.
One with many thanks,
DM
I have known Ingrid Hillje for more than ten years. Our first encounter was when she was a teacher of our Drill Team and I was her student. Her tireless attention to details made all of us proficient riders.
Later, I visited her at her home where she had built her own back yard barn and rented out stalls. She also took in abandoned and neglected horses and ponies. The transformation was remarkable. They gained weight and with Ingrid’s gentle touch regained their trust in people. It was such a delight to see these once frightened and underweight equines romping in the yard and playing with people and each other. No one I know gives the superior feed and TLC that Ingrid does. She even has an intercom set up between the barn and her home so she can here, when she is inside, if any of the critters are upset.
Her critter family also consists of once abandoned cats, lost dogs, wayward bunnies, etc.
Very truly yours,
CW
The time came when I needed to find a place for my horse Tonto on short notice and was taken to your place. From the beginning there seemed to be an attachment that attracted me to your style of dealing with the animals. Not just the horses but the goat, dogs, cats and rabbit. All the animals were happy and content, you speak to them as if they are all your children.
Tonto responded well to your environment, and everyone who knew him including the vet and blacksmith noticed the change in him. I now have a contented animal. It made perfect sense to send him with you when you moved. Although we miss him we know he has the best care, your knowledge and your years of experience give us great comfort. The method of always having food available with hay when not grazing provides horses who have been in situations of morning and evening feedings a more content attitude. Horses being continuous grazers by nature respond well to your routine and appear to reflect their inner peace. They know their loved for themselves and they become content. What better way to live then in the environment you provide.
Your devoted boarder,
MA
